SPOTLIGHT ON A TIGER: CHRIS & JULIE KELLER

Dr. Keller is Dean and Rector of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, following in the footsteps of his father, Christoph Keller, Jr., who served as Bishop of Arkansas from 1970 to 1981. Throughout his life, Chris has blended scholarly pursuits with innovative leadership. While he was student body president at Central, Chris initiated organized soccer in central Arkansas, challenging other local high schools to form soccer teams. Following high school, Chris attended Amherst College as an American Studies major, with a focus on southern history and an accent on ethnicity and race. While a Ph.D. candidate at Harvard, he left to pursue a Masters of Divinity at Episcopal Divinity School, and later earned a Doctor of Theology from the General Theology Seminary in New York. Today, he serves on the boards of Deltic Timber Corporation and Murphy USA along with his work at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral.

Julie has been a driving force alongside Chris for a lifetime of service, and Central High has been a passion of theirs since their early days in Little Rock. The Tiger Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit public charity, was created in 2012 to assist an already dynamic and successful school to better serve its students and community. The Foundation works to broaden support and resources for the programs and activities of this historic institution with a focus on academics, arts, citizenship, and athletics. These programs have placed a special emphasis on Central's greatest needs, and the Foundation has become an avenue for alumni and other Central High supporters to have a meaningful role in the ongoing life of the school. Julie served as a founding member of the Board and as a catalyst for many of its early and most successful projects.
